No Password Prompt in VA7110 Command View GUI When Security Enabled

We are not prompted for a username or password when accessing the VA7110 Manager GUI and when running an armperf -a from the host machine, we get "Login failed. You are not allowed to access this system." We used to get the password prompt before a software upgrade.

We have tried editing the /opt/sanmgr/commandview/server/config/PanConfigParams.txt file and editing the access.dat file. We have 127.0.0.1 in the access.dat along with the host machine's IP address and several machines on the network. The /opt/sanmgr/commandview/server/data/UserDBFile is not zero in size. The port set in the /opt/sanmgr/commandview/server/browser/conf.xml is port 4096. The /etc/opt/sanmgr/hostagent/config/commIpAddr.txt file has the IP address of the host machine for the array. We tried putting the network address in that file. We tried stopping and starting the SDM daemon using, /opt/sanmgr/commandview/client/sbin/HA_Dial_Stop followed by /opt/sanmgr/commandview/client/sbin/HA_Dial_Start.

How might we be able to get our password prompt back when accessing the VA7110 Manager GUI with security turned on? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Curtis

Re: No Password Prompt in VA7110 Command View GUI When Security Enabled

Hi Curtis,

Great name, BTW.

Assuming you upgraded to CV sdm v1.09, it went back to the original security of having it "off" by default (i.e. using the access.dat file for security).

To return to the way you had it before - you will need to edit the PanConfigParams.txt file to turn security back on as follows:

SECURITY_ENABLED=True

Then you will need to login with the command line and use the secadmin command to add the users you want to have access to Command View.

Details form this are in the secadmin section of the CLUI chapter in the Command View SDM Installation and User Guide (located on the CV sdm CD).

HTH,

Curt
