Dear All,
Has any body used a normal SCSI HBA (Eg. HP SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter) with MSA 500 G2 storage.
Pls let me know if you'll have any experiance with MSA 500 G2 with any HBA other than SA 642/6i.
Thanks,
Thiwanka.

Re: Normal SCSI HBA with MSA 500 G2 Storage .... !
Hello!
I have the same problem.
I have connected MSA500G2 to HP SC11Xe HBA on DL360G5 and there'is nothing in ACU. in W2003's device manager "msa500 controller" device appears with question mark. Proliant support pack installed.
Connecting on another DL380 server with SmartArray 6i is no problem.

You cannot configure an MSA500 (and some other MSA arrays) through a plain SCSI HBA. ACU does require a SmartArray controller (as listed in the specifications) for command-passthru.
