Online Array Expansion
I have an array expansion problem, Proliant 1600 + 4354R RAID Box, SA5300 + 7 x 36.4GB Ultra3 in RAID 5 configuration - I add 1 x 36.4GB - and using SA5300 Manual instructions expand the physical and logical array to include the extra disk. Insight Mgr sees the extra space but NT4(SP6a) Disk Administrator thinks the array and extra space is a volume set !!!, NT Explorer does not see the extra space, tried this twice, same results. Proliant 1600 has the latest of everything - firmware, NT drivers, SA5300 has v1.76 firmware. Boot controller is a Smart Array 2DH (v4.48 firmware). We bought the SA5300 on the basis that you could expand arrays like this - what am I doing wrong ?
