Optimum Strip Size

I am setting a Proliant 5500 with quad eons up for Oracle 8i release 2 using Windows 2000 server with dual Smart-3200's and 33 disks. Is there an optimum combination of stripping on the array controller and allocation unit size during format of the dynamic disk assuming that Oracle will be using its maximum block size of 16k? I would appreciate any guidance on this, thanks.

Re: Optimum Strip Size

Normally, you should optimize it based on the OS itself. This is done semi-automatically when you choose a primary OS in Smartstart or System Configuration. A drive array this large (I assume they will be at least two arrays, since you can't span across the controllers) will probably have to use 32K stripes.
