P2000 G3 SAS, C3000 and VMware ESXi 4.1 U1
Hi all,
I can't see any LUN's I create on P2000 in ESXi. My configuration is like this:
Hardware
P2000 G3 SAS with dual controllers
c3000 with dual SAS switch connected to P2000 with 2 SAS cables (switch 1/port1 to controller1/port1, switch 2/port1 to controller2/port1}.
2 BL460c G7 with P700m SAS controller on mezanine slot 2
Software
ESXi 4.1 Update 1
What I tried so far:
Updated every device with the latest firmware
On P2000 I created 2 test LUNs and presented with explicit mapping to the hosts
On SAS switch, configured multi initiator mode, created a zone with all SAS ports and mapped the 2 blades to that zone.
Any suggestions?
Thank You

Re: P2000 G3 SAS, C3000 and VMware ESXi 4.1 U1
Is P2000 compatible VMware ESXi?
According to VMWare support page, There is no ESXi supported on P2000 yet. That might be the reason..

Re: P2000 G3 SAS, C3000 and VMware ESXi 4.1 U1
Hello, has anyone found a resolution? I have the identical setup and have been unable to get this going. Not only on ESXi, but regular Windows servers as well. I've tried every zoning possibility I can think of.... Different volume mappings etc.
Thanks

Re: P2000 G3 SAS, C3000 and VMware ESXi 4.1 U1
Hi,
Here is an info I got from HP Tech Support :
'The P2000 G3 is not supported, at this time, attached to a Smart Array controller. The only controller/HBA supported with the P2000 G3 SAS MSA is the HP SC08e 6Gb SAS HBA.
This means that at this time there is no bladesystem support for the P2000 G3 SAS MSA storage.'
