Possible slow I/O throughput on newly created unit.

Hi All a few days ago, I created a new striped unit and 1 jbod, I then used addvol to create 1 advfs file domain. (Not my preferred method, but then I am not paying the bill ;-)..

Feeling rather pleased with myself I think job done.... but no The Backup engineer informs me that his backups to that file domain which is underpinned by my unit is taking double the time :-(

Not saving any kind paper output has not helped, but is there anything that I would need to set that might, as I am still not sure if it is anything I have done, but might speed us the time taken to preform a backup..

Double the time as compared to what?

You'll need to post the output of
SHOW DISK FULL
SHOW UNITS FULL
SHOW STRIPE
SHOW RAID
SHOW MIRROR
from your HSG80-based storage array as well as info on how your AdvFS domains are configured to get any meaningful answers. Is LSM involved?
