Presenting EVA storage to a Solaris server

HI
i am connectiing a Sun E420R running solaris 8 to a EVA 3000. I can see the server from the switch. I have presented disk to the server, but cannot see it yet. The server has a qlogic HBA, with the driver loaded. Any ideas? sorry but i'm not much of a solaris admin, and neither is my sun admin (haha). Any ideas would help...thanks

Re: Presenting EVA storage to a Solaris server

The system type is set correctly. The first two links did not work. Do i need to load one of the sun platform kits? we loaded the driver for the qlogic card from thier web site.

thanks

Re: Presenting EVA storage to a Solaris server

HI,

first you need to have the HP FCA2257P HBA
and you need to install the latest release of Secure Path for solaris which is the 3.0D release. This release includes the HPfcraid driver for the eva and the QLA2300-3 driver for the HBA. You'll have to check your patches for compliance, and also your VCS level on the EVA.

think to exclude your eva luns from the management of DMP if you have VxVM on your Sun host.

Do you have just one HBA on your host ?

you can have a look on the following URL for technical docs etc... :
