Presenting Snapshot to Linux
Is it possible to present a snapshot to more than one Linux AS 4 at a time (read-only mode)?
From EVA side, no problem.
But from Linux servers, I don't know ...
Thanks

Re: Presenting Snapshot to Linux
The only thing is you may have to manually present it or make it part of a script to do multiple presentations.
Never done it so I am not absoultely sure, but don't see why it would not work.

Re: Presenting Snapshot to Linux
Do you think it's better to present it as read-only from CV EVA side or to just mount it as ro?

Re: Presenting Snapshot to Linux
I know that by default Linux does write certain metadata to the superblock when certain events happen. For example whether or not a filesystem was unmounted properly or not. This is then read by Linux to determine whter or not to perform a fsck on the filesystem. It also records how many times a LUN has been mounted for similar reasons.
There could well be other metadata that has to be written to the superblock and there may even be ways to override this but I would suggest you post this kind of question on a Linux forum as it seems to bea more of Linux than storage question because you are right that thisis no problem from the EVA.

Re: Presenting Snapshot to Linux
Is it possible for an administrator to transfer this thread to Linux forum?

...someone should be able to move it.
Include the link to this thread.
See if they can remove this replay as well, but not really necessary.
