Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

We see this behaviour sometimes when using multiple CLI commands in a script. It seems to overrun the buffer on the terminal emulator. Solution was to enter one command, wait until the output finishes and then enter the next one.

Hopefully this helps.

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Tried that, like you suggested, one CLI command at a time, the output still the same. :(

What settings are you using when connecting to the controller?

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Hmmmm not sure at this point in time. When was the last time you rebooted the MSA and at what firmware level is it at?

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Well, so far we haven't reboot the MSA1000 for awhile but only the server (rp4440) which connected to it for regular OS patching. We was able to access it before, just not recently. :(

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

What you are seeing is definitely some kind of "drop out". Are you using the proper cable for the MSA1000?

I know, you are right, something is dropping out... we are using the RJ45Z cable which come with the MSA1000.

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Do you have access to any other terminal emulators? KeaTerm PowerTerm, etc

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

See if you can download a "trial" version and see if it works. If it doesn't then it might point at the cable.

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Hi have you tried the show tech_support ? Also you mentioned patching the server but not the controller firmware level.

Re: Problem displaying output on MSA1000

Hi Guys!!!

Thanks for all the suggestion. Finally we found the root cause of this problem. It was due to the bad serial port that our RJ45Z connection. After we used a different serial port, it works fine now.
