Proliant DL380 G3 Smart Array 5i monitoring

Recently I have had a disk failure with the SmartArray 5i and was only able to notice it looking at the front panel LEDs. No Syslog entry of any kind.

Does anyone know if there is any type of command-line tool I can use to check the status of the array?

I forgot to mention that I am running RedHat ES 2.1 and RadHat AS 3.0.

Are you running any of HP's Linux management agents (HP Storage Agents for Linux)? I believe they should do this, or send an SNMP message to Insight Manager.

They provide information via /proc/ so that would satisfy your need of command-line tool.
