RA4000 setup w/ 3rd party HBAs
Can't find a forum for this specific product so I'll throw it out here:
I've been trying (no luck) to set up a new RA4000 using a new Proliant 3000 and a new Emulex LP7000 adapter. All versions of the Compaq Drive Array Cofiguration Utility (ACU) I have tried fail with the general message to the effect the array controller is not found. This is despite the fact that the WinNT SCSI tree shows the controller connected to the LP7000 and even shows the firmware revision level!
Are the controllers/ACUs tied strictly to Compaq only HBAs? Will the latest model Compaq 64/66 (Rebranded Emulex) version work?

Re: RA4000 setup w/ 3rd party HBAs
The Array Configuration Utility will not run with non-Compaq Array Controllers . The ACU is for use with Compaq Smart 2 Array or newer Array Controllers , the utility will not run with the 64/66 SCSI controller .

Re: RA4000 setup w/ 3rd party HBAs
I too have the same problem. If the Array Configuration Utility doesn't detect 3rd pary HBAs, then why did Compaq sell me 2?
The tech I was talking to yesterday is sending me the latest version of Smart Start 5.0. Maybe that will detect the RA4000...
