Both have 6402 RAID controller and also there is a MSA30.
There are also 3x146GB Internal Disks on each one.
Questions:
1- Is there any way to have internal and external (MSA30) raid together?
2- What cable connections (cable diagram) are required? (internal/external)
3- What configurations are required for internal/external RAID (hardware/software)
4- On Integrity servers, before booting the OS, there is an ACU environment to configure RAID. What is the process on rp servers?
5- Any HP-UX11.11 software needed for RAID support?

Solution1- No. read note on bottom of page 6
2- Since the answer to #1 is no, this is N/A
3- Hardware RAID configuration within the controller
4- page 14
5- page 12, you need the RAID-01 fileset. It should be installed by default, if not you need to install it from the OS media or download it from software.hp.com

Re: RP3410/3440 , MSA30 and 6402 RAID Controller
Regarding to your comments we are going to use only external RAID.
We will keep all 3 internal disks without RAID.
So I will install OS on Internal disks and after that I will install the "HP A9890A PCI-X 2-Channel RAID SA SCSI Controller " software on HP-UX v1.
There are 6 disks on MSA30 connected to External port of SA6402 (A1)
In this situation I will be able to see disks on OS. /dev/ciss?? correct?
I don't want to use these MSA disks as boot device (only for applications)
I want to define RAID 0+1 on 6 MSA30 disks.
Shall I use only saconfig or something else?

Re: RP3410/3440 , MSA30 and 6402 RAID Controller
We will keep all 3 internal disks without RAID.
And where will the 3 internal disks be connected? The note on page 6 says either internal or external not both. So if you connect the MSA30 on the external connectors, the internal connectors must not have anything attached to them.

You do not see the 6 disks in the OS. You see the LUNs that you create within the 6402
> can I put SA6402 on Slot3...
Yes. If you are thinking about adding a second 6402, then you are on the right track. Internal disks with OS on first 6402 and external disks with apps on the second 6402. Each 6402 will have its own ciss device that you can use to create the LUNs. You have to bind the internal LUNs via the offline method (page 14). Then the extrnal LUNs you can do it from the OS with saconfig.
