RSM businessCopy difficulties

Hi ,

I have difficulties to change an RSM job On EVA8000 (HSV210, XCS=Version 6)

I can make a snapclone of the vg "/dev/vgtest" on 172.16.38.8 to the destination host 172.16.38.6
with success, but the source vg and the snapcloned one are in the same DiskGroup

I want to snapclone the VG:vgtest to another DiskGroup, how can I do this ?

You can see the script in the attached file, it a template script.

Regards.

Re: RSM businessCopy difficulties

Sorry for the mistake , this script do a snapshot not a snapclone.

Re: RSM businessCopy difficulties

It is not possible to snapshot a Vdisk to a different disk group. The snapshot is dependant upon the source Vdisk and hence has to reside in the same disk group. It is possible to create a snapclone to a different disk group. Best bet is to try things first in Command View to see if what you want to do will work in a script

Re: RSM businessCopy difficulties

I had now changed my script ,

so I start a snapclone, but how to specify that the snapclone must be on the other DiskGroup ?

Re: RSM businessCopy difficulties

You will have to change to SnapcloneHostVolumeGroup to SnapcloneHostVolumeToContainers.

For more information about containers, see RSM online help.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: RSM businessCopy difficulties

haux,

The command you need in rsm is SetDiskGroupForSnapclone.
