RSM presentation ok but no new LUN on host

Hi, i successfully presented a snapshot with 'presentstoragevolume' onto a windows 2003 SP2 host, i can see that LUN is presented and ok with Command view eva, but i can't see the volume in the host tools (explorer or disk manager), even if i rescan disks... any idea ?

Did you connect via RDP? At least in the past it was sometimes necessary to restart the tool or log out and -in again.

Did you open Windows device manager to launch "scan for hardware changes"? Refeshing disk manager is not enough.
This way it works in a remote desktop session.

Hi Patrice. Are you sure the host and WWN are good on the EVA Host ? So I think you nedd upgrade your RSM to 3.0 or 3.1. So you can also use the 'CreateHostVolume' and the 'MountHostVolume' commands. Have you check if the agent was correctly installed o the target host ?

Re: RSM presentation ok but no new LUN on host

Sorry Carole (and others :) )

but i crashed my rsm server... (and also data protector server, and command view eva server... big surprise...)

i just re-install it and let you know how it works after reinstalling rsm.

thanks

Re: RSM presentation ok but no new LUN on host

Hi, i'm disgusted... :(((

no way to reinstall RSM 2, always an error and if i look at logs, it seems to want to upgrade a previous database (but previous uninstall was clean and no directory stay on disk or registry...).
If i install RSM 3, it's ok but i can't manage SAN volumes (may be cause my Business Copy license is for relesae 2 ?)

All those hours of work for nothing...
any idea appreciated... TIA

Re: RSM presentation ok but no new LUN on host

hi RCCardoso,

i think it works, the problem is that the time to recognize the disk is long...

thanks

Re: RSM presentation ok but no new LUN on host

it works just adding discoverdiskdevice in script :)
