There are volume managers, hardware RAIDs with management software and some more.
In your case (XP array), you asking about command view software?

What does ll /opt/HORCM/bin/ give you?

Im also a little confused that these commands are not working. Essentially most RAID Manager commands have a -h option which will give you the version of RAID Manager that you are "running".
If you do have RM installed it might also be worth while making sure that your horcm daemons are running.
