Re: Can MPIO co-exit with secure path
Hi,
I have a windows server which has LUNs presented from a EVA5000 with secure path installed on it.
Recently, I have presented a LUN from a EVA8000 and from 'Disk Mgt' I can see 8 LUNs. I would like to install MPIO. But can it co-exist with secure path?

Re: Re: Can MPIO co-exit with secure path
Yes they can.
You need to install MPIO Fully Featured to be able to manage the paths to the EVA8000.

Re: Re: Can MPIO co-exit with secure path
Hi Chin,
I have a number of Windows 2003 boxes in the configuration you suggest - Secure Path V.4.0C SP1 & patches and MPIO FF (appropriate version - VCS/XCS AA/AP) - fully supported by HP and never had any issues with the setup.
You would be advised to install the MPIO Console or the manager as well so you can monitor/manage and configure email notification, etc for path/device health management.

Re: Re: Can MPIO co-exit with secure path
Always check the latest SAN Design Guide for questions like that http://www.hp.com/go/sandesign
In part 3, chapter 8 you will find the OS and multipathing rules.
See Table 84 this matrix shows which Array/multipathing combination is allowed.
Cheers
Peter
