Recover data from a damage compaq smart array controller 5300

I have a Proliant ML370G2 with Compaq SA5300 running windows 2000 Advanced Server, now my Server could not detected SA3500 from the Bios. Now I had placed the order to HP, but in the mean time how can I recovery my data? and after I got the new replacement from HP, how do I start my server with the old O.S?
