if I want to take out disk drives from an EVA6000, is the following procedure correct.
Delete disk group.
Select one disk and use remove tab in command view
Remove drive physically
If I want to remove a disk shelf do I need a power down and recabling of the address cabling of the remaining shelves?

SolutionYou need to power cycle the EVA.
You can remove it hot, and you do not need to change anything on the EAB/CAB bus.
But the EVA will, keep on trying to rediscover the missing disk shelf.
So you need to power cycle the EVA.
Or do a controller resync.
A full reboot, may have the same affect.
The way you remove disks, is the nice and good way.
