Disk A3 on the array went out the other day and our hardware suport vendor gave me a new 18.2g disk for replacement. He said All I had to do was replace the old drive with this drive and the box would rebuild the array.
I did as instructed and the disk didn't perform any rebuild, it's sitting there with no green light.
root user got this in the email:
=======================================
Tue Oct 28 05:46:50 2003
Array Monitor Daemon
=======================================
Disk error in disk array on /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0
at m2khpux.
Disk in slot 'A3' was
previously used in another array.
Standard input: END

Is there something on the H12 array that needs to be set to 'autobuild' ? I'm a little apprehensive since this is a production box housing our Unidata DB and the last thing I need is to have to take it down.
Thank you for any help.

Re: Replacing Disk on Autoraid H12
arraydsp -i <--- to get the array-id
arraycfg -D A3 -a
That will tell the Array it's ok to use the new disks. The utils are located in /opt/hparray/bin. See the man pages for more info.

Re: Replacing Disk on Autoraid H12
The A3 disk has been reclaimed by the array now. Thanks. How can I check the progress of the rebuild?
I've attached arraydsp -a

Re: Replacing Disk on Autoraid H12
It blinks green every so often but nothing like the other disks. There is definately something different about the A3 disk.
