Storage Boards Cleanup
To make it easier to find information about HPE Storage products and solutions, we are doing spring cleaning. This includes consolidation of some older boards, and a simpler structure that more accurately reflects how people use HPE Storage.

SCSI ID changed for drive - Smart Array 641

Have a RAID 5 with a spare setup on controller above. One of the drives failed. The spare became active. Put a new drive in, the drive was assigned a different SCSI Id (5) from the failed drive (12). The new drive shows up as unassigned. Is there a way to manually assign the SCSI ID? I don't understand why it was assigned a different SCSI ID.

Could you please tell me what is the firmware revision of the controller. It is know issue with one of the firmware. And there is no manual way to assign the scsi id to the disk.
