Secure path EVA8400 problem path

Hi I'm doing a migration from one

EVa3000 Active / Passive
3028 firmware

a

EVA 8400
09,522,000 firmware.

The system is HPUX and use secure path a30f02f version I submitted one of the HBAs to the EVA, and you should see 4 paths but rescanear only see 3.

Does anyone can throw me a hand?

Thank you very much

Hi

I believe you've add the HBA to EVA8K

The possible reasons could be.

In EVA 8K you have 4 ports on each Controller.

Check if all the ports connected properly.

Check if in SAN Switch zone all the ports added
You might have missed one of the ports in the switch zone

Re: Secure path EVA8400 problem path

Hello, if this is checked, the zoning is correct and the connection of fiber too.

Right now the server should see 4 paths per disc, two of each controller, but not because he sees 3.

Greetings
Torsten.

Re: Secure path EVA8400 problem path

I would expect 8 paths, 4 per SAN.

Check if the switch does see all paths to the EVA.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Secure path EVA8400 problem path

Hello, you commented, the server is connected by an HBA to an EVA3000 and the other to an EVA8400, we are in the process of migration.

The zonning is made to the HBA that is connected to the EVA8400 see 4 ports. the zonning this proven and HPUX rx6600 server only sees 3 ways instead of 4.

Thanks
Torsten.

Re: Secure path EVA8400 problem path

As said, check the switch if all pathes are visible. If not, you know now which one is missing (last digit in WWN).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
