Shutdown of VA7410 with armmgr command
I have a two node ServiceGuard cluster connected a VA7410 array via SAN switches. The two servers run LanSafe UPS software and are configured to shutdown on power failure.
Does the command "armmgr -s shut Array1" act in the same fashion as toggling the power button?
I'm looking for an easy solution to shutdown the array during a power failure.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Shutdown of VA7410 with armmgr command
Hi Brian
There are two way to shutdown VA
1. Just push out the tiggle button on ther front upper of VA
It makes sure that all of cache data will be restored to VA disks automatically
2. As you sated, Using armmgr -s shut
after complete shutdown, remove power
otherwise, you can get a big problem on your data.
Both of them do the same actions

Re: Shutdown of VA7410 with armmgr command
After a user issues an "armmgr -s shut Array1", why is there a problem with the data if power is not removed.
