Smart array controller 5300

I have proliant ML530 server, in which array controller is defective.can I just replace a new card or what are the steps that I have to take before replacing the card.( system with NT4, RAID 5)

You need to contact customer support and get it replaced under warranty.

The information about disks and configuration is stored both on the disks and the array controller. It is safe to change the controller without any actions in NT4.0 (besides the backup, if possible)
