Solaris Box - Cannot get luns back

I trying to getback some luns from a sun box running solaris. I cannot delete the scsi paths in Remote Control as it senses there is I/O down the path. The only way I have been able to get around this is to shut the host down. I've got a feeling this is somehow caused by Dynamic Multi-Pathing...Any ideas?

Re: Solaris Box - Cannot get luns back

Hi, The HBA's are JNI, the DNP is Veritas, the array is XP512....The luns are'nt lused but presented as single luns...

Re: Solaris Box - Cannot get luns back

and what do you want to do. Dealloc lun from the sun box to give the lun to another server ?

if so, did you remove the lun form the vm config on the sun box ?

Re: Solaris Box - Cannot get luns back

For HDS Environments (HP XP512/1024, HDS9960/9980 and Sun StorEdge).. the proper way to remove a LUN presented to a host is to:

1. unmount filesystems on top of the volume if any vxedit
2. remove the volume vxdisk/vxedit
3. remove the disk from VxVM control (vxdiskadm)
4. remove PATH(s) LUN Manager/RM or Command View/XP
