Upgrade MSA1500cs firmware to version 7

I'm actually using a MSA1500cs in VMware environment in active/passive configuration.

Everybody recommends me to upgrade my controller from the version 5 to the version 7, but I'm still hesitated.

The document bellow shows the compatibility list in VMware environment but not in my version of VMware. Actually, I'm using VMware ESX in 3.0.2 version and referring to the document also the 3.0.1 version is supported.

Does anybody here have already upgraded an MSA1500cs to version 7 in VMware environment and without bugs?

Hello,

I upgraded on december 2007 a VMware ESX 3.5 enviroment with a MSA1000 and 1500 to A/A. No problems so far.

Latest F/w is always recommended but if you donot face any problems with your setup, it would be wise to continue with the same.

I've been running v7 firmware with VMware since right after the firmware came out. No problems to report.

I'm currently running ESX 3.5
