Upgrade Netraid 3Si to Netraid 4M
WE want to upgrade our HP servers with a netraid 3Si controller to a netraid 4M controller without losing data.
Is it possible to convert our logical drives to the new netraid 4M controller without data loss.

Re: Upgrade Netraid 3Si to Netraid 4M

4M and 3Si are totaly differents cards, the vendor is different.
For what I know you cannot migrate from a 3si Logical drive to a 4M container without loosing data.
bye

Re: Upgrade Netraid 3Si to Netraid 4M
Hi
make a cold total and consistent backup (don`t forget to stop all databases and applications)
Replace the card, create and initialize LUNs Try to simulate the old configuration. Probably the device files from disk change(almost the instance number!).
REstore the backup and run!
