I'm migrating luns from an EVA3000 to EVA4400.
Currently the hosts have MPIO basic installed for EVA3000 when I presented luns from the 4400 to the host it showed as 2 disks (1path)
So I think I need to upgrade to MPIO full for EVA4400.
Do I just install a 4400 MPIO Full DSM or do I upgrade the MPIO basic to full by running a MPIO full install?

Solution
No. There are 2 totally different packages. From what I remember, they both can be installed at the same time.
At some point, if/when you remove the EVA3000, you would then remove the basic MPIO software as it would not be needed any more.
What Version of VCS is running on the EVA3000?

Re: Upgrade from MPIO Basic to MPIO Full
from memory its 3011.
So I have luns present from the 3000 & 4400 at the same time at present.. if I can have both installed basic & full at the same time that will make things easier.. how sure are you of that? (just being cautious :)

Re: Upgrade from MPIO Basic to MPIO Full
The basic MPIO is *NOT* compatible with any other multipath filter! If you want to keep it during the migration, run single-path to the EVA4400.
Otherwise: run single-path to the EVA3000, uninstall the basic MPIO, reboot and then install the full-featured MPIO.
