Urgent problem with ra4000

Overnight our ra4000 disk array stopped working and now in the array configuration utility shows this message:

The Compaq RA4000 Controller in RAID Array 8042DBX10316 cannot be configured by this program. The controller did not respond correctly to configuration commands.

This was installed some time ago and no-one here knows much about it.

Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I'd read that posting but no good.

Anyway, somehow it has magically started working again without us doing anything to it.

Hi,

I am not too firm in this, but have you tried the Array Configuration Utility(ACU) to see the configuration?
There is also an Array Diagnostics Utility(ADU?).

perhaps that will help you to see the cause of the problem?

if you re-read the first sencence I am sure you will notice that the output _is_ from ACU.

its a good idea. I just wonder if there is a version conflict between ACU and RA4000 - that's why I asked whether the ACU works (again).
