Using large hard drives with 2-DH controller

Proliant 3000/400 with 2-DH controller, Windows NT 4.0 Server. Need to add disk space.

Can I attach a StorageWorks 4314 Enclosure to the external channel on the 2-DH? (I assume I'm still limited to 7 drives.)

Does the 2-DH support 36GB and 72GB drives?

Re: Using large hard drives with 2-DH controller

You can support the Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 version of the 36.4GB drive, but if you're talking about Wide Ultra2 (80Mbps) or Wide Ultra3 (160Mbps), I don't think this older controller would work and if it did you'd only be able to operate at Wide-Ultra (40Mpbs) speeds and lose the advantage of these faster drives. You'd be better off purchasing a 3200 array controller and using that, as it has more cache (56MB) and would at least operate at Wide Ultra2 speeds depending on the drive type.
