VA 7410: Redundancy loss
WARNING: The configuration of the subsystem is such that one or more drives has only a single path of access to it.
WARNING: A rebuild operation failed.
WARNING: Some data in the device lacks redundancy, and is exposed to becoming unavailable if further drive removals or failures occur.
I have recently done a armfmt -h -a, and created two luns. After some time of usage, usually after half an hour or so, the error messages always appear. Any ideas what could be the cause? I have attached a armdsp -a.

What does 'logprn' say before and after this message? logprn for 2days might help.

Re: VA 7410: Redundancy loss
See your armdsp -a output. You will find that 2 out of 4 Backports are down!
See my attached drawing: You find to the right of each controller two FC-AL loops going to the disks. You obviously lost one of each controller but you are lucky that you can still access all d├Г┬пsks! You could have lost both loops to the same set of disks!
Check if all backend FC cables are plugged. If yes call HP for support!
You will find more information in the following manual:
http://h200006.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00088801/c00088801.pdf
Cheers
Peter

Re: VA 7410: Redundancy loss
I have attached a logprn output from today. There are a few errors reported on disk 11, but if that was the problem I would guess it should not report the drive as having status "good".
Strange...

Re: VA 7410: Redundancy loss
What does dmesg, syslog.log say? Do you have any pv timeout, powerfail or read write scsi error in dmesg or in syslog?

Richard
