SolutionIf there are no LUNs configured, you can't see any.
The management software vor VAs is called commandview sdm. You will need this software to manage the array.
You will need at least a small (~10 to 20 MB) LUN0 to enable your host to find the array.
Go to the software and drivers section of www.hp.com and look fpr "commandview sdm" and you will find the software and the manuals.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: VA7100 Disks
By Connecting the VA7100 to servers only will not show the disks. You have to install the Command View softwate.Create Luns using armcfg command.
1)To launch Command view CUI.Type cvui or in graphics type Launcher
2)U Can secure the lun by entering into the option called secure manager in CV.
IF u don't have command view.U can configure by connecting ur laptop to VA Serial port using vfpcfg Command
With Cheers

Re: VA7100 Disks
Have you checked the settings off your fiber ports?
Are the direct attached to the server or are you passing through a san switch.
If you don't have a connection you must change this settings through the serial port of the VA.
cfg .. (d
Through a san swithc : Fabric attaced
Direct attached : private loop

Re: VA7100 Disks
This is most likely related to the address configuration Isee link above).
But it could also be related to a kernel parameter setting. I have seen it sometimes with HP-UX 11.11, that swinstall is telling you, the max_thread_proc is only 64. After increasing this value everything is working.
Check the swagent logs for any hint or check the kernel value. Also check for correct name resolution and the commandview setting files mentioned in the link above.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
