Re: VA7100 Shutdown Procedures
Final shutdown?
Any interest to keep the data on it?
If you want to remove it from your servers config just vgexport all VGs located on this device and rmsf the device files.
Use
armmgr -s shut va_alias
or switch it off.
Remove all VA related software (Commandview/ISEE VA component) to prevent error messages.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solution
Hi Basheer,
You can use cvui interface to shutdown from the OS ( I am assuming you are using HP-UX).
You can also use the vfp of the VA by connecting your laptop to the serial port. You can issue a shutdown command from here as well.
cvui is a text menu based interface from the host. You will also have command line interface. Probably you have to use armmgr (I cannot recollect exactly). Please check the man pages of armmgr.
With regards,
Mohan.
