VA7100 as Shared storage in HP-UX MC/SG environment

Is it possible to use VA7100 as shared storage in HP-UX MC/SG cluster configuration
where each of two L-class servers are connected directly to VA7100 without FC switch ?

Yes you can, but don't you defeat the purpose of having MC/SG if you have a single point of failure?

Hi, Ivan.

If you want to be supported by HP, you must install two switches betwen discs and servers, I think, with hubs is also supported. Then you must install both HBA on each server and each HBA to one switch. And the same with VA.

If you install with direct conection, as you're proposing, it will work fine, but you will have a SPOF (Single point of failure), because you will not have redundancy betwen server and discs.

Good luck
