VA7100 disk array EOL

Has an end of life date been set for the VA7100 disk array?

Thanks,

Todd

Re: VA7100 disk array EOL

Yes,

HP released VA7110 for their customers already. But I don't have any idea about support.

The VA7110 is the next generation Virtual Array enclosure, and it replaces the VA7100. This product leverages the performance improvements developed from the VA7410 into a lower-cost entry-level replacement for the VA7100. Relative performance is up to twice that of the VA7100, which extends scalability to 45 disks from the current limit of 15. HP is pleased to offer this fully compatible replacement for the VA7100, which provides investment protection by supporting new 146 GB disk mechanisms.

Re: VA7100 disk array EOL

Hi Todd,

The VA7100 was taken off the corporate price list Apr 30, 2003. As per the HP standard of stopping support 5 years later, it should end on Apr 30, 2008. Sometimes an extension is done, but I would plan on that date. BTW, EOL stand for End of Life. You sometimes may also see EOSL which means End Of Support Life.
