VA7100 "Previously used" state

Hello all,

I have a problem with adding a drive in VA7100.
It show's "Previously used" state and has the green LED-on always. I know how to "include" it through SDM but i dont have it yet.

question:
Can i "include" it via serial cosole CLI (VFP), becouse i don't have SDM installed on my hpux. Is it posible through VFP?

logs in attach.

Best regards.

Re: VA7100 "Previously used" state

Hi.

No you cannot. You need to have command View isntalled to do that.

Based on the logs you provided, there are many issues with this array.

First at all VA fmw revision is too old
HP13. It had too many bugs.
M/D4 is failed
M/D12 Previously Used
M/T1.GH1- Host GBIC - Critical

WARNINGS
Hot Spare Unavailable
Physical Drive Problem
Capacity Depletion
GBIC Problem

I├В┬┤d recommend calling HP tech support if you really want to put it back in a healty state.

Re: VA7100 "Previously used" state

I assume you did a armcfg -a D
This can be performed from the VFP (virtual front panel=serial port), or command view.

Re: VA7100 "Previously used" state

I tried "arm" commands but it returns "invalid command".

It only applies "vfp" commands.

Will try: vfpcfg -a D

Thank you any way Arend Lensen.

Re: VA7100 "Previously used" state

Yes that is correct for the VFP you have to omit the "arm" section, just do cfg
