VA7100

I am thinking of renting a "Virtual Array 7100"
auto raid external device to get me through this PeopleSoft conversion. Question:
If I get this VA7100, will I need any specific software to control it? Or will it be like configuring a 12H model with ARMserver?

Thanks,
Bob Menefee

Re: VA7100

Robert,

You need the SDM software to manage it.

Re: VA7100

Hi Bob,

You can download the software etc for VA7100 from this link,

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/prodhome/hpsurestor30307.html

Try the link "update software & drivers"

Hope this helps.

Re: VA7100

Have a look at page 10-12. You need CommandView SDM.

Re: VA7100

Hi Rob,

You can also use the serial port on the back of the array controller to configure this array. Check the array manuals.

Hope this helps.

Re: VA7100

The VA comes with a serial cable for connecting to the VFP (Virtual Front Panel) command-line interface. You can use a PC or laptop to connect via HyperTerminal - 9600, 8, none, 1.

From there you can create LUNs and everything else you need to use the array.

Command View SDM is a nice management tool that does quite a bit more than just configure the array, but is not required to use the array.

Good luck!
