I replaced a faulty disk from VA7110 but automatic rebuilding process not woking.
Auto rebuild, auto format, auto include are ON.
Inserted disk is used one from somewhere else..
The disk status is as follows:
Disk at JA0/D8:
Status:_______________________________Good
Disk State:___________________________Previously used ... (I can't remember details..)
Vendor ID:____________________________HP 73.4G
Product ID:___________________________ST373405FC
Product Revision:_____________________0005
Data Capacity:________________________66.757 GB (140000000 blocks)
Block Length:_________________________520 bytes
Address:______________________________7
Node WWN:_____________________________200000186224030f
Initialize State:_____________________Ready
Redundancy Group:_____________________65536
Volume Set Serial Number:_____________111DC488111DC5CC
Serial Number:________________________3KT5ELBN0000
Firmware Revision:____________________HP09
Recovery Maps are on this disk.
Space is reserved on this disk for subsystem metadata and may be a map disk.
Newly inserted disk is already formated in 520 bytes.
But Redundancy Group is 65536 and Volume Set Serial Number is different from other disks!!!!
I couldn't run the commandviewSDM GUI tool,
"launcher" failed to start with java exception errors.
How can I correct this problem?
Can I use "armrbld -r" command?
Please help...
Thanks.
* Here's controller informations (Controller1 & 2 shows exactly same results except serial number)
Controller At M/C1:

Vendor ID:____________________________HP
Product ID:___________________________A6189B

Re: VA7110 disk replacement ... help, Plz!!
You have to include in manually. Use "cvui".
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: VA7110 disk replacement ... help, Plz!!
Now I have one more question. ^^
In above situation, if I
<1> remove old(failed) disk in disk slot 8(JA0/D8)and leave the slot empty,
<2> insert a new disk to another slot(previously empty) and
<3> include the disk to Redundancy Group (# armcfg -a),
then new disk will replace the old, failed disk?
Thanks..
