Hi All,
since 2 years we have three VA 7400.
In the manuals delivered with the VAs the FC cabling is different than in newer manuals. We have the old cabling implemented.
Is it possible to change the cabling without data loss, maybe online?
Thx
Lucian

Solution
You can change the cables without risk, but it's best if you do this offline. Stop all IO. 'Shut Down' the array with the front panel power switch. Change the cables, restart the array. Do not change any address switches.
In theory you can do this online, just do one fibre channel at a time. Wait for all error/warning messages to clear. Use armdsp -a the check for messages.
But, it's really not necessary to change the cable. Yes, the diagram changed, but either configuration will work fine.
