Re: VA7400: Syncron LUN Copy from one Box to another Box

There is no function to copy LUN from one VA to another (like Continuous Access in XP).
HP recommends using OS based utilities for such a functionality (LVM mirroring for HP UX, disk mirroring for Windows, Veritas Volume manager,..)

Re: VA7400: Syncron LUN Copy from one Box to another Box

Actually, now HP recommends using the HP SANLink Appliance (see http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/san/sanlink/index.html for more details) for remote copying of midrange storage devices as well as virtualization.

Software solutions lack managability that the SANLink provides... take a look.

Good luck

Re: VA7400: Syncron LUN Copy from one Box to another Box

It is true that SANLink has better manageability, performance, etc than software based solutions. But the list price for it is 238 667 $. It makes sense to invest that ammount of money to connect a lot of servers and storages from different vendors. For mirroring only two VA's it is to expensive.
