VA7410: does disks-ctrls firmware upgrade will disconnect clients?

My VA7410 controllers and disks are using old firmwares revs (A100 , HP00). When trying to firm up a disk, i got an advisory lock message and the upgrade not started. Is there a way to do the upgrade without disconnecting servers (clients)? what is the best method? Thanks.

Do upgrade the array without the install instructions!

Call HP support and ask them for the instructions!

The upgrade is considered as an offline upgrade.

I will definately recomend calling HP. I did upgrade on va7410 and you need to have the disk with no i/o activity.

Everyone is 100% correct. This is something that you will want to do with disk I/O at a minimum, ideally with the VA hosted filesystems all unmounted.

It has alot of steps, and opening a call with HP is a good idea.

I have attached the procedure that I used the last time that I did Firmware upgrades for our 3 VA7410 arrays.
