VCS v4.0 for EVA 3K/5K

According to quickspec update, new VCS v4.0 for EVA 3K/5K is avaliable. But I can't find any document describing whats new in this release.
Maybe someone has links for support documents?

Re: VCS v4.0 for EVA 3K/5K

Yeah, even I heard that its been released. Strangely, I could not find any documents to support this either. The last I heard is that the one major feature in this release is Active Active support. Previously a lun had a preferred controller and it could not be accessed through the other controller. But now, even though each lun still has a preferred controller, it can be accessed through either controllers. I don't know about other new features.

And, if you find and documents, please do put up their links in this thread. I'd be interested in having a look at them too.

Thanks.

Re: VCS v4.0 for EVA 3K/5K

Relax ;-)

I am really surprised that it is available already. The specification is dated for tomorrow, so I guess the usual docs will follow in the next days.

The only great thing about active/active is that you don't rely on Secure Path, but on some platforms it is a step backwards.

Another feature is supposed to be support for containers, but I hope it got better testing than on the XL.

Re: VCS v4.0 for EVA 3K/5K

VCS v4.0 will supply availiability enhancements and support for industry popular multipathing. Also provides support for Business Copy Enchancements such as 3-phase Snapclone, instant restore and a new RSM Topology Manager...

Our HP engineering staff is telling us Feb. 2006 is when we can get it. Any yes; lots of new goodies especially if you are in a Microsoft shop.
