What is the temperature treshold for the EVA8100?

By which temperature will the EVA8100 fail?
Many disks has a temperature of 40.0 C. I need to know when the EVA will shutdown.

Thanks!

Re: What is the temperature treshold for the EVA8100?

Hi,

The operating temperature for EVA is between 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C) beyond which the EVA would start failing due to over heat.

Re: What is the temperature treshold for the EVA8100?

Eva will not shutdown if disks goes abouve max temperature. Maybe the single disk will shut down.
40.0C is a very mormal temperature for a disk
I'm not aware of any published numbers for individual max disk temperature.

Re: What is the temperature treshold for the EVA8100?

Hello, we have real experience ( :-( ) after failed coolers temperature in server room went to 50C and all HP server and storages went to thermal shutdown (correctly !). Eva6000 was down as well (all disk shelves and controllers) and needed to be started manually.

(thanks HP :) )

Re: What is the temperature treshold for the EVA8100?

Hi,
When the EVA hits temp warning (not shutdown/power off) it *should* switch the cache to write through as well. Should the temp fall back below warning level (assuming that it did not power-off) then the cache will go to write-back again.

Jan,
Was your EVA data intact on reboot / restart ??
If yes, then the EVA worked as designed!
