When is a WWN discovered and displayed by the ACU-SSP

When using the Selective Storage Presentation with an MSA/1000 I find that some WWNs don't get displayed.

For example, a node with two HBAs (one zoned to each controller in the MSA) may only have the WWN of the HBA zoned to the active controller displayed in the SSP selection. The HBA zoned to the standby controller is not discovered or at least displayed.

Is this normal? What process can be performed to ensure both HBAs are displayed.

Lastly, in SSP some WWNs are labled as local, remote, and unknown AND online or offline.

I cannot find where these terms are explained.
I didn't find an explaination in the ACU user guide. Maybe I just missed it.

Thanks.

The effect of missing WWN entries on a storage array's list is quite common, but I have never seen an explanation. If I find that an entry is missing, I try to poll the fabric from the adapter BIOS on x86 servers. In extreme cases it is necessary to reboot the server to cause an event which allows the array to become aware of all initiator ports.
