Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

ok, we are getting somewere....

2 optios:
- I can upgrade to the active/active firmware
- deinstall these MPIO versions and install the basic MPIO

what the best option ?

It is still a test environment (so no important data)

Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

Active/active firmware implies a nice MMC plugin for multipath management and (mail) failure notification - best I have seen from the basic MPIO is some cryptic entries in the Windows event log.

If you upgrade to VCS 4.1xx you need Command View 7.01 or newer.

Disk model support is the same on both, all except 450 GB, 15K RPM and the 1TB, FATA that are not supported on EVA 3000/5000.

Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

ok deinstalled the wrong version of MPIO. Installed the correct one.

Windows 2003 (Enterprise) still does not see the disks.

Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

What about Windows Device Manager? Do you see any "HP HSV110 SCSI Disk Device" under "Disk Drives"?
That is the raw vdisk seen through 4 paths. When you install MPIO, it hides them and creates one "HP HSV110 Multi-Path Disk Device" which is what you see then in Windows Disk Manager.

Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

no, I only see my OS disk and an existing SCSI array.

Under SCSI and RAID controllers:
- HP Storageworks EVA 5000
- Multipath support

Re: Win2003 does not see VDISK's

That looks like basic connectivity is there and the vdisk presentation is not correct - can you supply a screen shot from the device manager (attach a .JPG - don't embedd in .DOC, please) ?
