Writing on DS 2300 is slow

I have two rp2470 servers connected to DS2300 with 12 disk (mirrored and shared)
The server are connected to DS 2300 via scsi cables.
We are trying to copy 1gb file from normal filesystem to raw devices and its taking 15 mins to copy.

Hello,

are you running hpux11i? and what are the size of your disks on both raw devices and internal devices?

if you are running hpux OS, you can check your system's current process.

The most reasonable cause is "somebody" is disturbing the bus.

Have a look at "dmesg" and syslog for SCSI events.

BTW, did you assign different SCSI IDs for the host controllers?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Hi Musaddaq,

Can you try to copy within the same system for a size of 1GB file and look at the results? If you have setup DS2300 with rp2470 system correctly (http://www.hp.com/products1/evolution/e3000/download/52430406b.pdf), it should be fast copy.

you can use above link to check your system configuration DS2300.

Sung
