Wrong dis group size on EVA 6000

Hello,

I have an EVA 6000 2C8D with 64 disk 72 FC with one disk group. We use VCS 5.031
8 disks per shelf.
All RSS are vertical
I power down one shelf for high availabilty test. After power on, the available space on my disk group is wrong

Thank for your help

Hi,

The disk are probably in the folder ungrouped disk.
You must regroup the disk, the where marked as defective at the reset

Re: Wrong dis group size on EVA 6000

After the power down, we see all the disk and shelfs in the folder unmappable hardware.

After the power on, I have only alarm on disk group. The alarm is about the protection level on the disk group. The total capacity is 4T but command view or sssu report that the total capacity is 80T now.
There is nothing in the unmappable folder or ungroup disk folder

Thanks

Re: Wrong dis group size on EVA 6000

Hi,

How much of unallocated space did you have before the EVA was powered down?

It seems to me that without one shelf EVA does not have enough space for reconstruction, split/merge & leveling. Single protection is just a single protection.

I hope this system is still under testing :o).

My 2 cents.

Hi VERRELLE ,
I have more or less the same problem.
I restart one controller , I wait till be up and restart the second controller , and now I have more or less the problem that you describe.

My question .

Did you do a reboot only and the problem was solved?

I am including and attachment of my problem ,

there are 24 disk of 300GB double protection, and I see the total size but available only 2 TB.

Thank you .

Re: Wrong dis group size on EVA 6000

No, what you see is the maximum size you can create *the next* virtual disk. A virtual disk cannot be larger then 2047SWGB and if the available space is more than that, it will just show 2047.
