XP Thin Provisioning
Hi, I am new to the XP THP and I have a silly question.
I want to delete a v-vol from a THP pool to free up space in the pool. The THP user guide says after the v-vol is un-presented from the host it needs to be re-formatted to release the space. Is re-formatting at this point the same as doing the Volume to Space option? I do not see any options to do a format once the vol is created. Any help would be great.
Thanks
EB

Re: XP Thin Provisioning
Deleting V├в VOLs----->
1.On the RWC use LUN Manager to remove the paths to the host.
Note
You must remove all host paths associated with a V├в VOL and disconnect the storage pool before you can perform the delete operation.
2.In the main menus select Go ->Volume Manager -> V├в VOL.
3.In the navigation tree expand the HP XP Thin Provisioning.
4.Right├в click the V├в VOL in the navigation tree and select Delete V├в VOL..
5.Click OK.
6.Click Apply.
Thats all :)

Re: XP Thin Provisioning
So if I have four LDEV in my v-vol group I have to un-present all four ldev from the host, remove them from the THP pool and then delete the v-vol group to in order to release the space in the pool. Am I correct in my thinking?
