XP1024 Continue Access reverse copy fail

Hi,

We had 2 XP1024 configured with Continue Access(CA). Yesterday we performed a CA reverse copy but failed with below error messages,

---------------------------------------------
brdb-p02:/HORCM/log0/curlog/horcmlog_brdb-p02#pairresync -g c16nb
pairresync: [EX_CMDRJE] An order to the control/command device was rejected
Refer to the command log(/HORCM/log0/horcc_brdb-p02.log) for details.

CMDLINE : pairresync -g c16nb
22:04:29-0b788-00304- ERROR:cm_sndrcv[rc < 0 from HORCM]
22:04:29-114a8-00304- [pairresync] L_CMD(CREATEPAIR) ERROR :rc = -35
22:04:29-14378-00304- [pairresync][exit(221)]
[EX_CMDRJE] An order to the control/command device was rejected
[Cause ]: An order to the command(control) device failed,or was rejected.
[Action]:Please confirm the following items. If this trouble doesn't resolve, then collect HORCM error logs(HORCM
_LOG=/HORCM/log0/curlog) and trace data, and send them to service personnel.
(1) Check if the 'HORC or HOMRCF function' is installed in the RAID.
(2) Check if the RCP and LCP are installed in the RAID.
(3) Check if the path between the RAID CUs is established by using the SVP.
(4) Check if the pair target volume is an appropriate status.
COMMAND ERROR : EUserId for HORC[0] : root (0) Wed Feb 28 22:18:56 2007
----------------------------------------------

Who can provide some hint or who knows where I can find the manual for CA? Thanks.

Regards,

Re: XP1024 Continue Access reverse copy fail

It looks like the command device of one of your XPs cannot be reached from the RAID Manager instances.

I would definitely log a call at HP support!

You will find the manuals in question here:
CA XP:

Raid Manager:

Re: XP1024 Continue Access reverse copy fail

The "command rejected" error is a catch-all error from the XP. I've seen it most commonly when I didn't have the proper software licenses installed inside the XP frames.

I agree that HP support is your best bet.
