XP12000 - 7+1P for 300G Drives allowed at Firmware 50-09-07
Or do we need a firmware upgrade first?
And how long usually does a firmware upgrade last?
And can't firmware upgrades be done along with cache, shared memory, capacity and CHiP upgrades?

Support for drives normally depends on the drive exact model ...
Firmware update would take IMHO around half an hour ... more or less. Not sure what you want to upgrade, maybe the fw update have to be done first.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: XP12000 - 7+1P for 300G Drives allowed at Firmware 50-09-07
When we got aour last batch of 300Giggers, we were told 7+1P is still not supported in FW but we may have been at an earlier rev than 50-09-07. We were instead told to use 6D+2P double parity Array Group COnfiguration...
Is there a document matching XP Firmware Versions with What are allowed Array Group lay outs?
Been searching on HPs web sites with no luck so far.

Hi,
7D+1P is supported as well as 6D+2P. Also concatenation 4x(7D+1P)=28D=4P is supported.
The latest firmware is 50-09-71-00/00

the pain is one part of the reality
