While Igniting and even querying HP-UX machnes connected to recently expanded XP12000 systems - I started to notice zero length HP_DISK-SUBSYSTEM) LUNS. I recall a setting somewhere in CommandView to avoid this -- does any one remember?
* Querying disk device: 1/0/2/1/0/4/0.4.3.0.7.12.0 ... * Disk at 1/0/2/1/0/4/0.4.3.0.7.12.0 (HP_DISK-SUBSYSTEM) reported a size of zero
from Iosacan:
DISK-SUBSYSTEM
/dev/dsk/c8t7d0 /dev/rdsk/c8t7d0

Re: XP12000 - How to avoid Zero-Size LUNs ?
Hi Nelson,
Not the host mode itself - it's still mode "08". But if you right click on the host group, click on "change host group". Next Click on the "Options" button and you will see mode 12 "Undisplay function a ghost LUN". Select it and thats' it!. Obviously, you'll need to do it on both ports. Then do another ioscan, and they will be gone. A reboot will clear out the "No H/W" on the old device files.
